Mary McLellan, General Manager of the Valhalla Inn

" We are thrilled and excited to have been chosen as the official hotel to be hosting all the sponsors, participants and officials of the PGA Tour Canada event .

It is a great event coming to the city. The event will help so many businesses in Thunder Bay, not just ours but everyone. To have that influx of people here in the summer will have a ripple effect in the whole economy. The event will take  over 80 to 85% of our hotel but we will have our space for our regular customers. We hope to do the city proud."

Scott Smith, Executive Director of Thunder Bay Golf Classic

"Today we announced the Valhalla Inn as the host hotel and an official sponsor which is great news. We are glad to have them on board. Every little bit of support on this  tournament is important not only for making awareness of the city  but helping the local charities."

" We haven't put out our marketing documents yet. Everything we have achieved so far has been word of mouth. I get more phone calls  wanting to be a part of this than I get phoning people myself. People seem to be excited about bringing an event of this magnitude to our city."

" To date we have 12 people on the advisory board and 16 committee chairs not including the co chairs. Right now we have a team of over 50 in total not including  all the creative and advertising people. We are in ther early stage of the event but our committe chairs to me are like a Stanley Cup winning team."

" We have sponsors that provide cash but also others such as ad agency,Generator for event media, Sencia for our web site development and Lakehead Printing helping us. The media include the Chroncle Journal, Dougall Media and Magic 99."
