'Non-Members Only' at the University Golf Club Online reservations and advance booking system new at popular Vancouver course The University Golf Club, one of Vancouver's premier public golfing facilities, today announced a number of important changes to increase accessibility and availability of tee times to the public. Notably, the Club's long-standing membership system has been discontinued and replaced with a new advance booking system and online tee time reservations system. As well, the Club has implemented a new seniors (60+) rate for mid-week golf and a reduced power cart rate for seniors. 'The changes we are making are all about getting back to our 1929 roots as a public golf course,' said Michael Mather, General Manager of University Golf Club. 'We are one of the most popular Vancouver courses for both local residents and visitors to our area, but we knew that public accessibility to popular tee times was a challenge we had to address. The changes we are making will allow our long-time patrons to plan and pre-book their golfing with us, while allowing more golfers to enjoy a round of golf at the University Golf Club when they want. ' Tee times can now be reserved more than seven days in advance for an additional non-refundable fee of $15 per round. University Golf Club green fees are $60 Monday to Thursday, and $65 Friday to Sunday (including holidays), which are unchanged from 2002. Online bookings are now available to 'non-members only' at www.universitygolf.com. For seniors (60+), the Club has introduced a $40 rate for rounds from Monday until Thursday before noon. In addition, all seniors will be eligible for the senior power cart rate of $16. Also new for 2003, pull carts will be available free of charge to all golfers. These new programs are just some of the many changes University Golf Club has been implementing to improve their customers golf experience.
Last year, the Club moved to 10 - minute tee times intervals to shorten playing times and create a more enjoyable round. 'The move to 10-minute tee times has been extremely popular,' said Mather. 'We believed it was a good idea and our patrons have given it a resounding endorsement. 'The University Golf Club is a privately owned, public golf course and has been a Vancouver golf landmark since 1929. Facilities and services at University Golf Club include an 18-hole championship golf course, driving range, putting greens, meeting, banquet and wedding facilities. Westward Ho!
