The Radisson Cable Beach Resort, Nassau, The Bahamas, is re-introducing itself with a brand new name, 'The Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort,' in celebration of the debut of its newly redesigned golf course.  The remarkable transformation of Nassau's first public golf course to a resort-quality, par-71 championship course has been unveiled and all eighteen-holes are now open for play.  The total redesign features new and upgraded facilities.  The transformation was overseen by veteran golf course designer and consultant Fred M. Settle, Jr. of International Golf Design, Inc.  The Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort is the only resort in Nassau to offer free, unlimited greens fees as part of its all-inclusive program.  Attractive golf green fees are also available to guests choosing to stay at the resort on a room - only basis.  'The philosophy behind the new course design was to create an outstanding resort course that would be enjoyable and challenging to all levels of playparticularly the resort golfer,' says Settle.  'In other words there are a set of tees for all skill levels.  The greens, large and receptive with a minimum of undulation, are fun to putt.  And, approach shots to the greens will give the feel of hitting down to them, with an element of containment to keep balls from running astray,' adds Settle.

The redesign includes a reshaping of the course's fairways, repositioning of greens, and the creation of new hazards and water-lined holes through two-thirds of the course.  Better year-round playing conditions are insured by the addition of special salt-tolerant grass (Salam Paspalum) that withstands the salty sea breezes and tropical climate and still maintains lush conditions, offering a ball lie that is second to none.
Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort is recognizing the growing assortment of avid players who consider golf when planning a getaway. With four tees to play from, the course plays to a par 71 and offers 6,453 yards from the blue tees; 6,001 yards from the white; 5,412 yards from the gold tees and 4,755 yards from the red tees.  The different tees offer a great variety of options for golfers of all skill levels.
Meeting planners and their attendees can now swing into action on the resort's newly redesigned golf course without impacting adversely on their company's budget.  Customized group golf tournaments can easily be arranged for a nominal fee. In an effort to provide meeting and incentive planners with maximum flexibility and choice, the resort offers both room-only and all-inclusive group programs.  Some of the endless choices that the Radisson Cable Beach & Golf Resort offers, include holding a themed event, 25,000 square feet of flexible, indoor meeting space, and a seven-acre tropical waterscape that is picture-perfect for outdoor venues.
