Mark Sunday May 28th on your calendar for the Skins Game 2006 in Support of Pro Kids.  Last years winning team of Hank Wilke and Mark Willianen will compete against Angela Daykin and Robert Cumming and Randy Fossum and Robbie Untinen.
"It is a great program.  Golf still has a reputation in some cases of being an elitist sport.  There are some start up costs that can limit kids so PRO Kids keeps the finances out of the way," states Tom Forsythe, Director of Golf Thunder Bay.  "Golf is a tremendous sports and if we can introduce it to kids it is a great way to go.  Last year $2500 was raised."
"We want to get more families and their children involved so our biggest goal is to get more people aware of the program," said organizer Bob Cumming.  "We have clubs and punch cards to get  the kids on the course."
Mark Willianen played and won last years event with Hank Wilke.  "The main reason is it gives me a chance to give back to the game.  I volunteered last year on Sunday and walked around with the kids Sundays at 6pm," smiles Mark Willianen.  "The kids get an appreciation of how hard it is after they try it."
To contact Pro Kids give a call to Laura Daniele Pro Kids Coordinator at 625-3212.  "They just give me a call and we can talk about the different opportunities available.  There are punch cards and golf camps and the like.  They kids can have 9 rounds of" notes Laura Daniele.   "We have some clubs we can loan ourselves and also we can work something out with the golf course clubs.  We want to get the kids involved in the sport.  The Junior Links Golf program is also coming up May 27th.  It is a great opportunity for kids to learn some skills as well."
